The short version
We collect only what we need to make the app work. We never sell your data. Your mood journal entries are encrypted and private — even we can't read them. You can delete everything at any time.
We collect the minimum needed to give you a great experience. Here's what that looks like:
Account info you provide (email, display name)
Mood check-ins and journal entries you create
App usage patterns (which tools you use, session length)
Device type and OS for crash reporting
Crisis mode activations (anonymized, never linked to your identity)
Journal entries are end-to-end encrypted
Your Mood Journal content is encrypted with a key derived from your password. We literally cannot read what you write. Not even us.
Your data is used to make MindfulSpace work for you — and only for that.
Personalizing your experience (remembering your vibe check history)
Improving app performance and fixing bugs
Sending you optional check-in reminders (only if you opt in)
Aggregated, anonymized research to improve mental wellness tools
Hard lines we will never cross
These aren't just policies — they're promises. If we ever broke these, we'd deserve to be shut down.
Sell your personal data to third parties. Ever.
Show you ads based on your mental health data
Share your crisis mode usage with employers or insurers
Use your journal entries to train AI models
Sell or merge your data if MindfulSpace is acquired without your consent
You're in control. Here's what you can do at any time, no questions asked:
Download a full export of all your data
Delete your account and all associated data permanently
Opt out of anonymized research contributions
Request corrections to any account information
Withdraw consent for push notifications
Your data is stored on encrypted servers in the EU (GDPR-compliant) and US. We use AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Our infrastructure is audited annually by independent security researchers.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all data is purged within 30 days.
